District Self Assessment Information
Los Alamos Public Schools student test scores are well above the state and national averages. We believe in our Mission Statement, which says that “…we work collaboratively to teach our students to become resourceful adults who are able to achieve their personal best in an ever-changing world.” Our School Board has challenged us to become a “premier” school district. One of the actions of a high-performing district is transparency in reporting our academic status to all who find themselves on this page of our website. We also believe that continuous improvement and data-driven decisions are part of studying our work and going from “…good to great…” as Jim Collins says. Los Alamos students perform in all areas, not just academics. We value the education of the “whole” child, so we offer a variety of opportunities for students to express their talents and visions.
