Baldrige

Los Alamos Middle School received the Baldrige Roadrunner Award during the 2004 - 2005 school year. Teachers at the middle school are implementing many of the Quality of New Mexico/Baldrige strategies into their curriculum. More information can be found on the Roadrunner Award and the Quality of New Mexico program site.

“Continuous School Improvement” is the term Los Alamos Public Schools has adopted to describe our process used to improve all operations necessary to our work as a New Mexico Public School District.  CSI uses Malcolm Baldrige’s principles of total quality management to constantly improve organizational systems.

Jim Shipley and Associates is a company that serves school districts, who are implementing the principles.  During the 2006-7 school year, LAPS became a New Mexico Pilot School for implementation of CSI, with Jim Shipley & Associates as our staff development consultants.

From the development of the Educational Plan for Student Success (EPSS) to measuring classroom instructional systems, CSI is being used district-wide to positively influence student performance.
