We welcome Mrs. Chelsea Fisher as our student teacher for the first 12 weeks.  She is working on a Masters in Education from The University of Phoenix. She grew up in Los Alamos and comes with a variety of teaching experiences.  And she speaks Chinese! She will observe all classes for the first several weeks, then transition to working with small groups, then assist in teaching various lessons and finally, will plan, teach  and assess all the lessons for most of the classes under my supervision.  Come and meet her at Open House!

A Note about graded student work:

I will return graded student work weekly, including homework, in-class exercises and practice paragraphs and essays.  Students are expected to take these papers home to show their parents regularly.  Graded tests and formal essays will be kept in a class portfolio.  Students may check out the graded essays and some tests to take home to show their parents, but must return them to keep in the portfolio. Certain unit tests and finals will only be able to be seen by parents at parent conferences (students may take home the answer sheets, but not the test itself.) All portfolio work plus students' data records on their class progress will be returned at the end of the year.  Parents may view their child's portfolio at a scheduled parent conference. Please contact me if you have any questions about graded work.  And be sure to check your grades weekly on Power School.
