Bring a silent reading book to class everyday. This must be a novel.
GRADING
If your child does not turn in an assignment, he/she will receive a 50%. I do not give 0's. I will not give a grade lower than a 50%.
If your child has turned something in or fails a test, the lowest grade he/she will receive will be a 51%.
I want my students to be as successful as possible. My students will be able to recover from a 50%, but it's almost impossible to recover from a 0. If you have any questions, please email or call.
Students will be preparing themselves for high school all year long. At the beginning of the year I will accept late work, but everyday it's late 10% will be taken off the grade. After the 1st semester is complete, I will no longer accept late work. At the high school teachers accept no late work and it's time for my students to take this seriously! If a student is absent, then he/she will be able to turn in his/her work, but he/she must come and see me to get their work.
