Embossed dots appear in single cells of six dots, with a limited configuration of 63 different possibilities.  This limitation necesitates that cell configuration and combinations represent different print symbols, depending on the context.  Context rules have been defined to represent the variety of possibilities represented by print.  For more information, click on any of these links:  Literary Braille, Nemeth Math Code, The Computer Braille Code, and the Braille Code for Chemical Notation.
