{Teens} Mission Statement
The Topper Parent Organization is a positive, supportive parent/guardian group for Los Alamos High School, dedicated to serving the needs of students, parents/guardians and staff. Parental involvement in schools sends an important message to students and helps insure the best possible educational experience. Parental support of school staff helps increase mutual cooperation and respect.
Increased involvement of parents and families often is cited as one of the most important ways to improve public schools. A variety of studies confirm that parent involvement makes an enormous impact on students' attitude, attendance, and academic achievement. Indeed our new principal, Grace Brown, has indicated that she would like parents to be involved “every day in every way” at the high school. So this year we are excited to announce the formation of the new Topper Parents Organization (TPO). TPO hopes to give assistance to teachers, raise funds for supplemental educational materials and experiences, support school and family social interaction, and provide a non-biased network for sharing information regarding our student needs. This is a unique opportunity for us to encourage communication between parents and staff, to raise parents’ awareness, and to promote parents involvement in school in order to provide the best educational environment for our children. Please feel welcome to come and join us, and invite your friends to come tool.

- Staff and Student appreciation activities are being planned.
- We are currently pursuing a 501 (3c)
Staff requests items needed to meet or enhance educational needs. Parents, community groups and individuals are encouraged to donate! Based on available funds and priorities, TPO may also acquire items for staff use.
Staff Appreciation:At least one yearly event or project designed to encourage our greatest asset at LAHS, our Students.
Monthly Meetings: Guest Speakers and discussion of topics of interest to parents.
