Join in this year’s Homecoming as Los Alamos High School will "Crush the Cougars" when they play against the Cibola High School Cougarsin the Football game Friday night, September 18. Homecoming Week 2026 is September 14 - 19.

Parade Information

The Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, September 18. This year's Grand Marshall is Los Alamos High School art teacher Mary Grace.

Please note that the parade route has been changed this year. The parade will start on Central at  Ashley Pond Park, and proceed up Central to the Mari Mac parking lot. This ensures adequate shelter is available for all our participants should there be a thunderstorm before the event like last year, and the roundabout does not have to be closed at Central and 502. 

The parade will begin at 2:30 pm at Ashley Pond Park, and judges will be seated outside the post office.

The completed Homecoming Parade Application and payments are due to the Los Alamos High School Bookkeeper by 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The fee for all float/vehicle entries is $30 and $20 for walkers only.  Checks may be made payable to LAPS. Online payment is available through HomeTown Fan.

Staging begins at 1:30 pm at the IHM Church Parking lot. Floats and vehicles may not be parked at the lot before this time. Enter through the east entrance via Canyon Road. Float riders can be dropped off in the far west parking lot behind the church 

HOMECOMING PARADE - NEW INSTRUCTIONS & ROUTE THIS YEAR

Route
The parade will start at Ashley Pond Park, proceeding from Canyon Road to Central Avenue, concluding at the Mari Mac parking lot @ 535 Central Avenue. LAHS staff will intersperse walkers with floats from the Mesa Public Library west parking lot. 

Schedule
1:30 PM: Float & Walker Staging begins 
2:30 PM: Parade step-off @ Ashley Pond Park

Safety Rules

• All float drivers must be 21+ with a valid license.
• Floats with student riders require 4 adults (2 in front, 2 in back).
• NO on & off floats while they are in motion or the parade is in procession.
• Bike riders must wear helmets.
• Candy must be handed out by walkers only; do NOT throw candy from floats.
• No staging parking at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church lot before 1:30 PM.
• Always use crosswalks when crossing streets.
• Keep staging areas clean and ensure groups stay together safely.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the loss of privileges to participate in current and future parades.

Enter lot on the east side after 1:30pm and check in @ the canopy for your float number and staging directions

Walkers & Bike Riders: Mesa Public Library west parking lot
Red circled parking spaces are designated for walkers to meet. Check in @ the canopy for your walker number and directions.

Homecoming Football Game

The Hilltoppers will host the Cibola Cougars in the Homecoming football game Friday night. Game time is 7 pm. Gates will open at 5:30 pm.

This year's Homecoming Royalty will be crowned during halftime. The Los Alamos High School Topper Marching Band will perform during halftime as well.

Tickets and season passes can be purchased in advance either through the HomeTown Fan app or online through Hometown Ticketing. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate with a credit card.  

Season passes will include entry to all middle school games as well as high school regular season games. Passes are good for admission to all regular season home games but will not be accepted for any postseason events. The cost for a season pass is $85 for an individual, $50 for a student (K-6), military or senior citizen (65+) or $175 for a family of four.

Cash will not be accepted at the gate.  

Concessions and Spirit Store will open at 5 pm. Cash, credit and debit cards are accepted. A minimum $5 purchase is required to use a card at the concessions stand.
