Hiring Process

Substitute Information

Substitute Teacher Observation Form – to be completed by all interested Substitute Employment Applicants.  Substitutes must complete two (2) hours of observations at each site level (elementary, middle school, high school) for licensure. Please upload your completed Substitute Teacher Observation Form to your online application once you have completed the observations within LAPS.

Your willingness to give service to Los Alamos Public Schools’ students in all curricular areas is appreciated. As a substitute staff member, you are required to follow all LAPS regulations and policies. Upon hiring, you will be given a Substitute Handbook that covers special regulations, preparation procedures, School Board policies, and more.
